Professional Mold Remediation & Removal

Our remediation process

STEP 1: Containment & Air Filtration

The biggest risk during mold removal is 'cross-contamination'—allowing invisible spores to travel to unaffected rooms. We establish HEPA-filtered pressure differentials and physical 6-mil poly-sheeting barriers to isolate the work area. By utilizing industrial HEPA air scrubbers, we continuously cycle the air, capturing 99.97% of airborne particles and mold spores, ensuring the air quality in the rest of your home remains safe and breathable throughout the process.

Step 2: Precision Removal & Antimicrobial Treatment

Mold isn't just on the surface; it often roots into porous materials. Our technicians follow IICRC S520 standards to carefully remove impacted materials like drywall, insulation, or carpeting that cannot be salvaged. For structural elements like wood framing, we perform HEPA vacuuming and mechanical cleaning (such as wire brushing or sanding) followed by the application of EPA-registered antimicrobial solutions. This dual-action approach kills existing mold and provides a protective barrier to inhibit future fungal growth.

Step 3: Deep Cleaning & Final Sanitization

Once the physical mold is gone, we perform a 'detailed cleaning' of all surfaces within the containment zone. This includes HEPA vacuuming every inch of the space and damp-wiping with specialized detergents. We then deodorize the area to remove that 'musty' odor. Our process is designed to bring the indoor fungal ecology back to normal levels, leaving the site 'white-glove clean' and ready for a third-party environmental hygienist to perform a post-remediation verification (PRV) test.

Mold Testing: Why We Partner with Third-Party Hygienists

To provide our clients with the highest level of integrity, Marathon Restoration focuses exclusively on the remediation process. We work alongside independent, certified mold inspectors and environmental hygienists. This ensures there is no conflict of interest and that your home passes a rigorous final clearance test from an unbiased professional.
